Business Needs

Founded in 1999 by David Carleton and Jeffrey Wright, Maximum Data, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is the leading provider of real-time Barcoding and Data Collection applications that are seamlessly integrated into Microsoft Business Solutions. Maximum Data has been a committed Microsoft® Business Solutions Developer since 1999. During that time, they have collaborated on over 200 successful data collection/barcoding implementations.

"We span the gap between traditional warehousing, manufacturing and distribution processes by integrating Microsoft Dynamics® GP ERP solution with our Automated Data Collection (ADC) system...The InTouch Series. By using barcode technology in conjunction with RF transmitting/receiving devices, the InTouch products allow companies to benefit from 'real-time' data collection on all of their manufacturing, receiving, distribution and service needs," says David Carleton, President & CEO.

Maximum Data customers come from a wide variety of different industries. Anyone using Microsoft Dynamics GP that has inventory and a need for better warehouse control and real-time inventory data in their ERP system is an ideal candidate for Maximum Data. They help all their distribution customers automate all of their Microsoft Dynamics GP inventory transactions that would have had to otherwise be addressed manually.

In the past, Maximum Data had been using a popular off-the-shelf software solution to tract customer and prospect information. When their sales staff was calling on a customer, they did not have critical data such as: customer support issues, account balances or any note history once that prospect became a customer. The decentralized database made everything hard to manage.

Solution

Waugh explained that he needed customer relationship management software that could help him coordinate prospecting efforts, improve tracking of sales activities - such as leads assigned, number of contacts made, close ratios, and more - and act as a tool his sales team could use to simplify their sales, service, and prospecting efforts.

Also working in favor of Microsoft Dynamics CRM was its flexibility and ease of customization. "Microsoft Dynamics CRM allows us to implement our sales methodology in the system, instead of having the system dictate the sales methodology we need to use," Waugh says.

Maximum Data now has a centralized database to access information in real time with report capabilities, ability to send mass marketing campaigns, track orders and ultimately provide better service to their prospects and customers.
